Key Idea

i-Li LI finished the illustrations in black and white for A Monograph of Codonopsis and Allied Genera (2015) by Academician De-Yuan HONG, Institute of Botany, Chinese Academy of Sciences, in 2013. In 2017, she reorganized all of the illustrations in color by grouping them into one plate with the type species in center and surrounding by forty-six species within the genus in one by one scale. Ai-Li LI hopes that this will not only explain the species biodiversity of the genus Codonopsis but also show the research result by botanist, with the spirit essence of art in searching the relationship between science and art.
